I got my start hand-coding Flash training courses for 200,000 Honda technicians, back when ActionScript was a career skill. Nine years at The Cheesecake Factory taught me how a beloved brand behaves in pixels. Today I'm at Netflix, designing and building the front end of their learning platform. Somewhere in between, design stopped being decoration for me and became a kind of translation: taking systems that are genuinely complicated and making them feel like they aren't.
That's the work I keep choosing. A 20-year-old money-movement platform at LPL Financial holding $80B in assets, rebuilt so a transaction takes seven minutes instead of ten. A search product at SearchStax that grew from 23 clients to over 100 after we made setup something a marketer could do alone. Supply chain tools at Deckers, where a good forecast is the difference between a warehouse and a write-off.
I work the full arc, from research and journey mapping through wireframes, prototypes, and hi-fi UI, and I'll happily write the production HTML and CSS too. The best compliment I get is silence: nobody notices a system that just works.
